  1. In small bowl, mix sugar, chili powder and red pepper; set aside.
  2. In large microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in cereal and nuts until evenly coated. Stir in sugar mixture until evenly coated.
  3. Microwave uncovered on High 5 to 6 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes, until mixture just begins to turn brown. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container.

Very disappointed. I stirred after 2 minutes and everything seemed fine, but after 4 minutes the mix was burned beyond repair. You really need to keep a close eye on it and stir more frequently....

:( sad story: I made this tasty recipe, and (surprise) added garlic powder, dried minced onion, pretzels and more cayenne. Microwaved it 2 mins. Stirred. Microwaved 2 mins again… and it burned!!...

Really good flavor without being too spicy! I used cheerios, corn chex, and walnuts since that is all I had on hand.
