"Okay, so I'm obviously a fan of Doctor Who (and his Timey-Wimey device), but there is thyme involved! And cheese, and all of my recipe guinea pigs love it, so I hope you do, too!"

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Whisk melted butter and milk together with a fork. Soak the bread slices in the milk mixture, turning to cover both sides completely. Sprinkle half of the thyme over one side of the bread pieces.
  3. Heat a dry skillet over medium-low heat, and fry the bread, thyme-side down, until lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Sprinkle the remaining thyme over the bread; turn over and fry until lightly browned, about 5 minutes more. Transfer to a baking sheet; sprinkle with the Cheddar cheese.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until the cheese is bubbly, about 10 minutes. Remove and serve immediately with salt and cracked pepper.

This was REALLY tasty. The only change I would make the next time I made it was to put more cheese on top. Since you aren't pouring syrup or anything over it, I thought it could use a bit more...

love the Thymey Wimey bits it's that perfect start before the on coming storm hits. :3 (I love the doctor who them breakfast looking forward to more of them)

Easy to make, great to eat while watching Dr Who!
