  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars on medium speed for 3 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to batter. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls 3 in. apart onto lightly greased baking sheets. Flatten lightly with a fork. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until light brown. Remove to a wire rack to cool.

This cookie bakes up well, but I changed some things. I added about 6 ounces of almond paste to the butter/sugar mixture and creamed it all together then loaded it up with as many chopped nuts ...

I had some milk chocolate chips that needed to be used, so I substituted those instead of the semisweet chips. They still turned out delicious!
