  1. In a saucepan, cook the asparagus in a small amount of water until crisp-tender, about 3-4 minutes. Drain well and place in a large bowl.
  2. Combine the soy sauce, oil, vinegar, sugar, sesame seeds, ginger and cumin; pour over asparagus and toss to coat. Cover and chill for 1 hour. Drain before serving.

I recommend using sesame oil for more "oriental" flavor. Also, I felt that 2 tbsps of soy sauce made the dish too salty. Next time, I'll use just one.

Tasty.. I added water chesnuts and some sauted cabbage because I didn't have enough asparagus. :(

Delicious! I followed the recipe exactly and it is wonderful. We love asparagus, but were getting tired of steamed or grilled. This salad is perfect. Very quick to prepare and it's yummy!!
