  1. In a large saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add peas, asparagus, butter, parsley, garlic salt if desired and pepper. Return to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until asparagus is crisp-tender, about 10 minutes. Drain; serve immediately.

This is a nice simple springy side dish. Everyone loved this, even the kids. I did cut back on the butter but didn't hurt the flavor at all and I used fresh asparagus.

Simple and delicious. I did cut back on the cooking time because we like our veggies crisp.

Excellent! Used 16 oz bag of peas and 1 pound of asparagus as that is what I had on hand. Reheated leftovers were still great. Will definitely make again.

I like finding new ways to cook veggies to keep my family eating the good stuff! I used frozen asparagus and I think I had to keep this dish on the burner to long waiting for the rest of the din...
