  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine flour, salt and baking powder; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Stir in coconut and pecans (batter will be thick).
  2. Spread into a greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Dust with confectioners' sugar. Cut into bars.

I bought these at a bake sale and asked for the recipe. She said no. So I am overjoyed to find these as they are so good. She put the peacns on top after the batter was spread out and did not...

These are good warm from the oven. I halved the recipe and used wheat flour. Some cinnamon and nutmeg might be nice.
