  1. In a skillet, saute the artichokes and garlic in 2 tablespoons butter until tender. Transfer to a greased 1-qt. baking dish.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the remaining butter. Stir in flour, salt and pepper until smooth. Gradually add milk. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Remove from the heat. Stir a small amount of hot mixture into egg; return all to pan, stirring constantly. Stir in 1/4 cup cheese until melted.
  3. Pour over artichokes; sprinkle with remaining cheese. Combine crumbs and paprika; sprinkle over top. Bake, uncovered, at 400 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until heated through.

Very yummy. I'd bake for a little bit longer so the cheese is mixed in really well.

Didn't turn out well at all. It was very runny and bland. Will probably play around with it some more and see if I can change my mind.

This was heavenly! I'm not a fan of swiss cheese, but somehow, it all worked, and worked WONDERFULLY! This recipe is a definate keeper!

My husband and I thought this was pretty good. The only change I made was that I used frozen artichokes instead of canned. I won't be making it again but if you had it at your dinner party I w...

It was a little bland for my taste and felt like it was missing something. It turned out a bit runny too. My friends husband loved it but I was not a big fan.

Just ok. Everyone at Thanksgiving dinner must have thought so too because I took home over half a pan home after everyone had packed away leftovers.

My husband thought this was worth 5 stars. I wasn't as impressed. So I'll compromise & give it a 4.
