  1. In a bowl, combine the first eight ingredients. Crumble pork over mixture and mix well. Shape into eight 1/2-in. patties. Refrigerate for 1 hour. In a nonstick skillet over medium heat, fry patties for 6-8 minutes on each side or until meat is no longer pink.

This was pretty good, but I might add some red pepper flakes next time to give it a kick. Overall, though, easy and delicious!

The patties were full of flavor but didn't taste like breakfast sausage at all but I was looking for breakfast sausage patties and these just weren't it. I'll have to continue my search....

I didn't have buttermilk so I substituted milk and lemon juice; also used fresh sage (1 generous tbsp finely chopped) as I had it on hand. I'm not sure that the cheese gave any extra flavor, so...
