Kentucky Grilled Chicken

Kentucky Grilled Chicken

"This chicken is perfect for an outdoor summer meal, and my family thinks it's fantastic. It takes about an hour on the grill but is worth the wait. I use a new paintbrush to 'mop' on the basting sauce. -Jill Evely, Wilmore, Kentucky"

  1. In a bowl, combine the first five ingredients; mix well. Pour 1 cup marinade into a large resealable plastic bag; add the chicken. Seal bag and turn to coat; refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Cover and refrigerate the remaining marinade for basting.
  2. Coat grill rack with nonstick cooking spray before starting the grill. Drain and discard marinade from chicken. Grill bone side down, covered, over indirect medium heat for 20 minutes. Turn; grill 20-30 minutes longer or until juices run clear, basting occasionally with reserved marinade.

I've had tastier marinades. It turned out kind of bland, and the chicken was not as tender as I was hoping. It seemed like there was a missing ingredient that would have amp'd up the flavor.

I used boneless chicken breasts for this and they came out very moist. The cider vinegar tenderizes the chicken nicely but doesn't leave an aftertaste. I used Frank's Red Hot and doubled that ...

Juicy, flavorful chicken. I used boneless skinless chicken breasts, marinated overnight. The vinegar isn't too strong, and the hot pepper sauce isn't too spicy.

This is the juiciest chicken I have ever grilled. I marinaded the chicken for 3 hrs. I will be using this marinade often.

This marinade is very good! I used two cloves of fresh minced garlic and I also used boneless skinless chicken breasts. I halved the recipe since I only used 4 breasts. I already put the chic...

I used boneless, skinless chicken tenders, added 2 tsp of Old Bay seasoning, added 1 Tbls Brown sugar. They were ready in 15 minutes. Great recipe!

Juicy and flavorful! My guests loved this and asked for the recipe. Did not change anything and I recommend using bone-in chicken as stated. Boneless is just not as flavorful. Takes a little...

Yummy! Vinegar a little strong, but still really good.
