  1. In a microwave-save dish, combine the celery, onion, water and butter. Cover and microwave on high for 4-5 minutes. Stir in peas and lemon-pepper. Cover and microwave 4-6 minutes longer. Let stand for 4 minutes or until peas are tender.


  • Nutritional Analysis: 1/2 cup (prepared with reduced-fat butter) equals 90 calories, 3 g fat (2 g saturated fat), 10 mg cholesterol, 170 mg sodium, 12 g carbohydrate, 4 g fiber, 5 g protein. Diabetic Exchanges: 1 starch.

This was a very nice quick dish. I would reccomend precooking the frozen peas a bit and draining the water from them. I used salt and pepper to taste instead of lemon pepper.

This recipe passes my test. it requires everyday ingredients and is in my 5 ingredients range so I can make it on a whim. I don't cook anything in the microwave so I just simmered the onions fir...

Interesting idea, but the celery added a strange smell to the dish - I love the lemon pepper, though. Will probably make this another time without celery ...
