Rosemary Cheddar Bread

Rosemary Cheddar Bread

"'My husband and I love rosemary-and cheddar-crusted potatoes, so I adapted a potato bread recipe to include our favorite flavors,' writes Tammy Perrault of Lancaster, Ohio. The bread machine makes this herbed loaf a snap to prepare. 'Everyone who has tasted it asks for the recipe,' Tammy says."

  1. In bread machine pan, place the first eight ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select basic bread setting. Choose crust color and loaf size if available. Bake according to bread machine directions (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed).
  2. Just before the final kneading (your machine may audibly signal this), add the cheese.

I'm not sure what the cheddar cheese' contribution is to the bread because you can't really see it and you can't taste it, but it must do something (I would hope with 1-1/4 cups of it!) because ...

I liked this bread, but I only gave it four stars because of the changes I made to improve it. These are the changes that I made: 1) Use two cups whole wheat flour and one cup white 2) Make dou...

Great bread but couldn't give it 5 stars due to a few changes I made. I used the dough setting on my bread maker but opted to bake it instead (350 for about 30 minutes). Along with the rosemary,...

this is so good. I don't have a bread machine so did this by hand. Just mixed the dry ingredients together in 1 bowl while proofing the yeast in water, added to the dry w/the oil. Kneaded it a...

Nice texture. I used fresh rosemary instead and was concerned it might be too strong but it was balanced. It didn't rise as much as the bread machine usually does and the top crust was uneven....

Everyone in the family loved this bread. I would cut the sugar back to just a Tbsp to proof the yeast. I also rolled the dough out and sprinkled the chesse and rolled it up for a "swirl" bread...

The bread was good but the smell in the house as it was baking and as you bring it to your mouth to take a bite is awsome!! I used the sweet setting on the breadmaker because of the sugar and t...
