"My aunt gave me this recipe years ago. When my boys were young, they weren't very fond of beef, but this was a sure way to entice them to eat."

  1. In a bowl, combine the first nine ingredients; mix well. Pour 1/4 cup marinade into a large resealable plastic bag; cover and refrigerate remaining marinade. Add beef to the bag. Seal and turn to coat; refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight, turning occasionally.
  2. Drain and discard marinade. On metal or soaked wooden skewers, alternately thread beef and vegetables. Grill, uncovered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from heat for 6-8 minutes on each side or until beef reaches desired doneness, basting frequently with reserved marinade and turning once.

I had this marinading for about 24 hours. Maybe that was a bit too long. It came out a little on the tangy side. I used red/green peppers and red onion.

I'm rating just the marinade, and it's a winner! I'll definitely use this again. I do my veggies separately in a basket, so I grilled the meat on its own. Very tender and flavorful.

Easy, nice to look at, and everyone seemed to like it, but not a "wow!" dish. I used sweet onions, as regular ones would taste too strong for my kids. Thanks for the recipe!

I substituted red wine for the lemon juice due to what was on hand and it turned out well

The marinade was really good, although I tripled it so that I could also soak the vegi's in the sauce. I also omitted the mushrooms (we don't care for those) and added broccoli, squash & zucchi...
