  1. In a skillet, saute the onion, green pepper and garlic in butter until crisp-tender. Stir in the water, ham, tomato sauce, vinegar and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 3 minutes. Add the rice; cover and cook for 5 minutes. Add the shrimp; cook 3-5 minutes longer or until shrimp turn pink and rice is cooked.

I omitted the ham (because I didn't have any in the house) and added some Tony Chachere's seasoning because it needed more than just pepper. But this is a great base recipe and it's quick and e...

Delicious! I didn't have tomato paste and suprisingly used Ketchup and a little rotel and it worked great!! Noone knew the difference! I will be making this again!! Thank you!

Family loved it! I added a few shots of hot sauce.

it was pretty good but not fantastic

This was so quick and easy. The only thing I changed was the water--I used chicken broth instead and it perked up the taste. My husband and I both loved it!

This was just ok. It was quite bland, dry, and took longer to make than similar recipes I've tried. It was good with the addition of spices.
