  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F ( 175 degrees C ).
  2. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour and sugar, add almond extract and eggs; mix until well combined. Roll dough into 1 inch balls, place on a cookie sheet, and place an almond slice on to top of each one. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until golden brown.

These turned out just fine for me. They were a little sticky but I didn't mind that. I pushed them down a little in the middle to place the almond. They were a hit in my cookie exchange.
