  1. In a heavy saucepan, whisk the sugar, salt, mustard, paprika and egg yolks until smooth. Gradually whisk in water and vinegar. Cook and stir over medium heat until a thermometer reads 160 degrees F and mixture is thickened. Remove from the heat; cool to room temperature.
  2. Place the cabbage in a bowl; add dressing and toss to coat. Refrigerate until serving.

This was a great, mild tasting dressing and quite easy to make. I tossed this with a bag of ready to go coleslaw and served on shredded BBQ pork sandwiches.

Very tasty. I used a head of green cabbage only but followed the recipe otherwise. Served with toasted walnuts and dried cherries...it was a hit!
