  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Cream butter by hand, then gradually add in sugar followed by eggs.
  2. Next stir in syrup, salt, vanilla and bourbon.
  3. Add pecans and chocolate chips, stir well and pour into crust.
  4. Bake 40 - 50 minutes or until top of pie is golden brown.

This classic pie named for the Kentucky Derby is a hit at our house. However, since I don't love the flavor of bourbon I left it out and increased the vanilla two tsp. Also, I like a little less...
