Question: (1 answer)

I am going to make the hot dog cake for my grandson birthday tomorrow. It calls for a sheet cake that you roll up with icing inside for the " dog". Can I use Texas sheet cake, cutting it down in size once baked? Will it roll up? I know..cannot get twinkles which would make life easier ha ha Thanks for any advice...

Question: (1 answer)

Good morning to my peeps and friends, I was just talking with a friend about cake recipes and I mentioned that I was not to fond of icing on cakes. She recommended a recipe with flour that is not as sweet as regular icing. You have to cook this recipe also. Does anyone know about a recipe with flour in it that is not as sweet as icing sugar.

I grew Chervil for the first time this year. It smells so nice, like a bit of licorice. How do those of you who use it, use it? I've thinking it would be nice in a tea, or with fish dishes.

NON-FOOD QUESTION: My sisters and I want to take a vacation for our 40th birthday (twins and older sister). The problem is we are on a tight budget (about $1500 a piece for a 1 week trip). We are not big beach people and we would love to go to another country (like Italy or Thailand). Any suggestions?

Question: (2 answers)

What is the best way to store fresh Basil until you have time to turn it into frozen cubes or Pesto? It gets wilty in water, on the counter, and I lost a lot today when I put it in my basement refrigerator which must have been a couple degrees too cold. I was thinking rinse in cold water, shake dry and then wrap in paper towels and put in a ziplock and then chuck into the refrigerator. Thoughts?
