I made my first lemon meringue pie tonight. It called for lemon zests. My husband complained that there were strings in it from the lemon peel. What did I do wrong?

Question: (1 answer)

Johanna has asked about a 11.75 lb (seriously small) frozen turkey and subsequently an 8.75 lb frozen "turkey" that I can't believe is a turkey. (Turkeys are bigger than that) The threads are frozen...what's going on?

Question: (1 answer)

Do you have any tips on making fudge using the small individual/portion paper cups (similar to cupcake cups)? Will the fudge stick to the paper? Do I need to use spray oil? I was going to use the simple recipe calling for ChocChips w/marshmallow crème, etc.

There is a brine recipe that I found here and have been using on turkey that I either smoke or roast. Going to deep fry a turkey breast this year. Should I still brine? Wasn't sure about brining for deep frying ?

Question: (11 answers)

I love sweet potatoes but don't like the sweet way people cook them. I like mine just baked like a white potato with some butter and salt and pepper. Does anyone have any other suggestion's for a savory sweet potato topping or other flavors to put on a baked whole sweet potato?

Question: (2 answers)

Good morning to everyone, I had a pleasant surprise this morning when I looked at my emails and found one from my neighbour who will give me a check for $500.00 for my expenses on my trip to Kelowna which is a blessing. I had some of my muffins and they are very dense with the flaxseed taking up all the moisture in the muffin that is loaded with fibre but can be very dry to eat without butter. I recommend tea and your favourite drink to take with these muffins. Hope you are all having a good day preparing for your Thanksgiving dinners.
