My mom used to make a barbeque in a crock pot. The main ingredients were pork beef, or whatever meat she had handy, celery, onions, catsup, horseradish and garlic. I regret not getting the recipe while she was alive, and now can't seem to find anything like it! Anyone have something similar?

Question: (1 answer)

I have lost a favorite old recipe. Does anyone know of a layered sherbert dessert (3 flavors/colors) that is frozen with a coconut topping? I don't remember if it had a bottom crust. Thought it would be pretty for Easter.

Roxie's Brand Muffins, can I use dates in place of raisins? If so, do I soak them like I would if I were using raisins? Thanks

Wow, thank you so much for all the birthday wishes. Everyone is so nice and even though I don't come as often as I would like I think of you everyday. Yesterday I was thinking about how when I first started posting on here I was really really nervous about Gary, of all people. Had no idea he was just clowning around LOL when I found out I would LMAO at his posts. Really miss the good old times. Love you all :)

I have a question about storing fresh produce. Do you refrigerate or leave on counter: bell peppers, squash, zucchini, turnips, jalapeños, poblano pepper, grape tomatoes, cucumbers? The store temperature is significantly cooler than my home, which I currently keep around 70 degrees, but will bump up 6-8 degrees once summer hits.

I can't find hoisin sauce here. Read on Goggle that it is also known as Chinese barbeque sauce which I did see but didn't read the ingredient list. I also read that hoisin sometimes has peanut butter so I'd rather skip it. What would you sub in this recipe? A bit of tomato paste? What spices? Some vinegar? I'm about to leave so will check back tonight. Thank you all for your help!

westcoastmom, if you're out there I just made your Icebox Cherry Almond Shortbread again. These are so good. I've been making them ever since you gave me the recipe. I took your advice with a slight change. Instead of adding 1/4 tsp. almond flavouring, I use a teaspoon each time. Everything else stays the same. Perfect as written. This is a keeper. Thank you again.http://allrecipes.com/personalrecipe/63838478/icebox-cherry-almond-shortbread/detail.aspx
