OT, I am taking advantage of the Labor Day sales. I have bought a washing machine and dishwasher. Thank you all for the suggestions. They will arrive Saturday!!! I have another request. What mattress do you prefer? Our is over 20 years old. Is it a preference? Any suggestions will be helpful. I will not stick around to comment. I am painting the laundry room before the washer gets here. Thank You!

Well I got apple pies made for my husband's coworkers today. While I was doing that I wrote down my recipe and looked on AR and saw that my pie is different. I would love it if you would take a look and tell me what you think. I have it posted. Thank you :-)

Yesterday I was up to my eyeballs in tomatoes! My granddaughter Justice was here to help me. She is 20, so I'm trying to teach her about canning. Spaghetti sauce is always one of my staples! I use a combination of canned, and fresh tomatoes. Thanks for all of the responses about the stale chocolate chip cookies, they all sound delicious! I think I am going to try the ice cream pie one, that sounds yummy!

Ugh, so disappointed! I just chopped up a beautiful zucchini and sauteed it in a little olive oil and a little butter plus some seasonings. When I went to try it, it was very bitter. WHY does this happen? Every once in a while I get a bitter zucchini. Is it the vegetable or possibly the way I'm seasoning? Looking for wisdom from everyone's expertise. Thanks in advance. I may not be able to respond tonight, my internet has been a little shaky.

Any pro bakers? I have been wanting to make this recipe a long time for apple honey challah bread. http://www.marthastewart.com/314038/apple-honey-challah Can I just proof the yeast and add it? it seems to me 100F is not very warm if you are just adding it. Also I am braiding it, so I am stuffing the apples inside ropes of dough instead of kneading the apples in the dough. Would I really have to let it rise 3 times if I did that? Sorry I have so many questions, never done this before :) Thanks so much for any help!

My husband and I are going to start "Clean Eating". I've been on this site for years, and absolutely love it! I have a pro membership, so I can plan my meals and have the shopping list populate. When i searched for "clean eating" i didn;t really find much more than diet recipies. Any advice?

I am searching for a bacon flavored base (or something???) to make breakfast gravy, green beans, cabbage etc.. taste better without having to make all the bacon to collect the drippings. I have found 2 online, Hot Belly Bacon Grease and Granny's Bacon Drippings, but I was wondering if anyone had ever used either one or if there is something better out there? Thanks in advance for any help and advice you can give me.

Good Morning AR! Yesterday I asked about one skillet meals and then I made a huge mistake. I downloaded a coupon bar that has totally screwed the computer up. So I never made it back until night time and even then I couldn't commit. I'm using my computer that is on the rocky cliff at the time. Now we have to take the other computer to the Nerd Herd. Unbelievable because we downloaded it on my son NEW computer as well and wham we actually have to take both computers to the Nerd Herd. DO NOT download the online free coupon bar it will make a mess of your computer. Either way thank you for all the fab suggestions. I really appreciate it and am sorry I never made it back! HAve a great day.
