Has anyone heard of cooking your turkey breast side down for the first hour then turning it over for the rest of the cooking time? Does it work?

Question: (3 answers)

We always brine our turkey for thanks giving so the drippings are way too salty to use for gravy. Does anyone have a recipe that uses just the neck & giblets? (I just don't want to use store bought) Thank You

Question: (2 answers)

Can agave nectar be used as a substitute for corn syrup in candy making to prevent the crystallization of sugar? I make hard candy suckers and peanut brittle with my science classes each year. This year I have a student that is allergic to corn, including corn syrup. The only candy he usually is able to eat is Tic Tacs. I'd love to be able to give him a whole batch so he can have treats with the other students.

Question: (4 answers)

I am trying to find a recipe for a thick balsamic salad dressing. There is a deli and a pizza place by me that have this dressing and it is soooo good. They sell a small 8 oz bottle for $10!! The dressing is somewhat sweet but still has that vinegar taste and it is thick like syrup, maybe a little thicker. I want to try to make it myself but I have tried some recipes and they were not what I was looking for. I am almost positive there is sugar (I am assuming brown sugar) in it because you can feel it and someone told me there is a hint of honey in it. Does anyone have a recipe like this?

Question: (4 answers)

Ok I'm convinced that I should cook my 20lb turkey upside down this year, but I can't seem to find out how, do I wrap it tight in foil or use cooking bag or just tent it? Also it seems it should be turned the last 30 mins is that a mess to do?

Question: (1 answer)

Hi to everyone, I am going early tomorrow morning to make my first appointment in Kelowna. This afternoon I used my gift card for Wal mart that Manella gave to me for anything that I might need. I bought some socks and a pair of slippers to wear while I am there. I am thankful for your support and prayers. I will be in a hotel room for the first night and then I will be in the lodge for the rest of my visit there. Thank you Manella for the gift card that has helped me out greatly.

Question: (2 answers)

I'll be making the awesome sausage, cranberry, apple stuff from this site to take to a friend's home on Thursday and for some reason, I'm drawing a blank on how long to bake it. It will be in a 9 x 13 pan, covered. I'm thinking 325, one hour. Am I correct? Any help greatly appreciated.
