Hi everyone me again, I was curious what some of your dinner disasters were? Along with undercooked flavorless sirloin steak, the corn on the cob was terrible still, the only edible thing was the boxed potatoes we had ( I know, I don't usually serve things from a box) well I had high hopes for the candy bar pie I made and that was a 2 star recipe, deleted that one from my recipe box. The only good thing about dinner last night was that we did not have any guests over for dinner. Today it is comical, I guess this would be a good way to diet.

Sorry about your dinner. Next time you make steaks try to get some that are well marbled. That adds a lot of flavor. Also you might want to top them with a compound butter which also adds a ton of flavor.

I bought well marbled looking steaks and I topped them with garlic butter, I think that the steaks at the chain grocery stores are a gamble around here, I know I should buy the grass fed beef but that is really expensive.

Oh yes, dinner disasters. I've had my fair share. Once I took a breakfast casserole from the refrigerator and put it right into the oven without letting it come up to room temp. The Pyrex baking dish exploded in my oven.

Hi; while yes I have had what I would call a few burnt offerings I have been pretty lucky in the kitchen except for one time when I had company over. I had meatloaf in the oven along with baked potato and veggies. My oven blew a fuse twice so I decided to use my fry pan to finish cooking the meal which did turn out fine. When I made coffee my coffee maker decided to get plugged by grinds and had coffee and grinds all over the counter and floor. While trying to clean up the mess my sink decided it was its turn and backed up. All four of us could not stop laughing by the end of the night.

Latest disaster is a fish story. I had been working on trying to learn to cook fish. Last two times it was so disgusting I could not even bear to eat it. My grandma was a doll and told me it was good, when I darn well knew it was gross.

Like, not paying attention and putting 2tbsp garam masala and 1tbsp Coriander into my curry spice mix instead of tsp. slight difference and taste. cheers

Oh! I can tell you about the time the baked potato exploded in the oven!Thanksgiving dinner I made with pink mashed potatoes? I did not even think about red potato skins being dyed red that year! What a mess to clean up! How about the My biggest all time disaster was when I was making sweet pickles, though! After slaving all day to make the pickles, I pulled them out of the canning pot, and all 7 qts. slipped on to the floor. I had a sticky mess of pickles and broken glass sloshed across the stove, kitchen cabinets, and floor!

It is funny that you mention marbled steaks, I have grilled bison steaks many times to perfection and they have no fat at all. They turn out delish.

First off, I consider myself an excellent cook and even I have a hard time pulling off a great steak but I will say a great steak is all about getting good beef and temperature, so work your way up to that dish. Start easy, and disasters are not the way to 4develop a love for cooking. Try making breakfast for dinner. A nice sausage gravy over some store bought- the frozen not refridge biscuits with a side of peas is nice and hardy.

I have to chime in here, while I've had my fair share of disasters, my cousin tops me me, for dinner 1night, and I was a guest she served chicken cordon bleu (from the freezer, Pink Hollandaise Sauce, and undercooked rice, but her husband went 1 better, for thanksgiving last year, he did a garbage can turkey, unfortunately for all the guests, the turkey tasted like lighter fluid, so no turkey last year @ their house, and for mine, I found a recipe for grilled chicken breasts w/ a pink cream sauce, it looked so digusting it went into the garbage. So there are my offerings! :)

When I first got married I made a great beef stew until I decided it needed black pepper and as I was pouring the pepper into the measuring spoon, I gave the black pepper container a hit and a large glob of pepper fell in the pot. I tried to scoop it out, but the beef stew had way too much pepper.
