F14Tomcat is asking: (2 answers)
Can I prepare the meatballs (Cocktail Meatballs) a day ahead of time before putting in the oven? Also, is there a danger of the meatballs falling apart in the sauce in the slo cooker - does it need to be on 'Low' or 'Warm"? Thanks

Hi, I always prepare my meatballs then place on tray and cover with clingfilm. Always chill for at least an hour. Reckon do well overnight, no problem. Go ahead and enjoy. cheers.

I checked out a recipe. Yes you can use a slow cooker and the meat balls should be fine. Yes you can make them the night before.

My thought would be that if you covered and refridgerated a day or so before cooking, they'd be better than if cooked more or less immediately...the cold will let them dehydrate slightly and hold together better; the extra time will allow your seasoning to spread more in the meat.

Just to be sure I am not misunderstanding you, you mentioned cook on low vs. warm. You can't cook on warm, it is just enough heat to hold a completely cooked content and keep it warm for a few hours at most. You must cook it first.
