No Kevin, you are not alone. Seems that all the flavor and juices get cooked out and the meal is dry and kind of tasteless. They are often, over cooked!

I have dried out chicken and pork in the crockpot. I have turned hamburger into mush. I am not a fan - I feel like I have to babysit the appliance.

I agree with Maggie about having to babysit. My croc pot died last August and I have not replaced it and am finding that I really don't miss it

My crock pot recipes always come out some kind of overcooked. My cast iron dutch oven was the best 15$ I ever spent at goodwill :P

I've never been able to understand how a piece of meat that has been in liquid for hours can be dry...but that's what happens everytime I try to use my crockpot for anything other than spaghetti sauce!! Glad to know I'm not the only one having this issue.

thank you so much for your input. i've only been successful with a slow cooker for chili, sauces and onion soup. A fine onion soup. remind me to post this. best ever. for cooking.. maggi n zerostar. enameled dutch oven at 17 pounds empty, cooks is a verb. slow cooker is a noun with adjective. Verb!
