Hi Manella, My birthday is February 22. On the way home this evening from town I thought of a term that was used often in our house when we had a meal with the name slumgullion. Is anyone familiar with this term in cooking. I am going to try something different for Valentine's Day with a design on one of my desserts that I have made recently.

There are 3 recipes for slumgullion on AR. We ate this all the time in the 50s and 60s.

I looked up the term online and it is the English word for meat stew. slum meaning slime and gullion meaning cesspool. The term goulash is from Hungary where the term originated. The English term does not have as much appeal as does the term goulash when you really know what it means in common terms.
