Indiana Peggy is asking: (1 answer)
In my Recipe Box, I want to put my "unorganized recipes" into folders. Have done it many times. But now the drop down menu doesn't open; I can only open the acutual recipe. Has the procedure changed...or am I doing something wrong?

Hi Peggy! If you're trying to add a folder, scroll down the left column and you'll see "Add a folder." I think they moved it a while ago to this new location.

I didn't have any problems Peggy. Click on Uncatagorized recipes. Under each recipe is a blue arrow that says options, click it and another menu opens. First one is folder, click that and follow along.

My drop down is still there. Since it's gong to change your save date anyway, if you really just want it to be done and it's not working right I'd consider clicking to open and then using the save menu on the recipe to put it in your folder. Just a thought.

no, not trying to add a folder. Got that all set up with many recipes in them. When I put cursor on the recipe title (the one I want to put into a folder), it just takes me to the recipe. Does not show the drop down. Aaaarrgghh..

linda2d, I may have to take that option. Oh well.

So, that does not work either. When I go to the recipe, the little triangle that you click to save it to a specific place does not open either. I can save it, but not to a specific folder. Terrific.

Mouse over underneath the recipe you are trying to do, it's an orange down arrow(sorry!). Doesn't appear until you hover over it there.

Funniest thing...it works on my iPad. Not my laptop. I have done it on my laptop in the (recent) past. Wonder what changed? The mysteries of computers!

Indiana Peggy-check to see if you nee to remove Allrecipes from your compatibility view. Go to Tools on your toolbar, click Compatibility View Settings (NOT Compatibility View) and remove allrecipes from compatibility view. I had the same thing happen, and removing allrecipes from Compatibility view made it okay for me. Hope this helps!

Elle. Thank you! That worked!! I don't know what that means (compatibility view), but now the Options drop down menu shows again when I put the cursor on the recipe title. Hooray!

In case anyone is interested: Sometimes the website you’re visiting doesn't look right. It shows up as a jumble of out-of-place menus, images, and text boxes. What's going on? One possible explanation: The site might have been designed for an earlier version of Internet Explorer. If Internet Explorer recognizes that the webpage isn't compatible, you'll see the Compatibility View button on the Address bar. Try clicking it. The Compatibility View button In Compatibility View, websites will be displayed as if you were viewing them in a previous version of Internet Explorer, which will often correct display problems. You don’t need to click the button for a site after you’ve done it once—the next time you visit the site, Internet Explorer 9 will automatically show it in Compatibility View. (If you ever want to go back to browsing with Internet Explorer 9 on that site, just click the Compatibility View button again.)
