I found a recipe for rack of lamb that I want to try but it says the lamb needs to be "frenched." What does that mean and how do I do it?

It's exposing the bone at the end. You can ask your butcher to do it or here's a video with instructions: http://www.finecooking.com/videos/how-to-french-rack-of-lamb.aspx

Wow! Thanks for the speedy response! That video was very helpful. I will have to try that when I do the rack of lamb. Looks like it might take a few minutes but I am up for the challenge!

Frenching exposes the ends of the bones on a rack of lamb as janet mentions. It is mostly a fancier way to prepare this cut of meat. I think you can also cook it without doing that.
