Binetti Antoinette is asking: (1 answer)
I have a recipe that calls for 1/2 c. each of butter and margarine. I do not use margarine and wondered if I could substitute something for the margarine. I'm afraid that if I use all butter, the cookies will have too much of a butter taste. What do you suggest?

I always use all butter, no such thing as too much of a butter taste in cookies :)

any cookie will taste better, with butter, they taste homemade. I always use butter also, whether it asks for crisco shortning or margerine. Butter rules! lol

almond cookies and i read the recipe wrong. actually it asks for 1/2 c. each of butter and shortening. not enamoured with shortening all that much but i guess it's there for crispiness. would you believe that the recipes i was looking at called for butter or margarine. better get my glasses!!!
