My "OPINION" (lets remember that!) shoulder would be better, though you could do it with almost any cut. The tissue, fats, and so on are better with the cheaper shoulder.

Hi Joel. "Pork "shoulder" is the same as "pork butt." I promise! I first learned it here on the Buzz, and you can "Google" it, too.

I can understand Johanna's mistake in that a "Boston Butt" is in fact a shoulder cut. Cuts from the rear legs are called "hams" and are a sort of different cut of meat. Easy mistake to make, and the reason of your question.
