When I think of toaster ovens, I think of DMIL's small thing she used to make cheese toast. Now I'm thinking of getting one. What do you use yours for & is it worth the counter space?

I have a black and decker convection toaster oven and absolutely love it. I do a lot cooking with my toaster oven especially in the hot summer months. This one cooks and bakes great and broils really well too.

Hi Elaine! This is like the one I was looking at but a bit larger. It would come in handy during the summer but also to keep from having to heat the oven when just something quick for the two of us. Thank you!

I have a Black and Decker similar to the one Elaine has and love it. It's like having a miniature oven on my counter that can toast bread. Well worth the space it takes up. I find for the two of us that I use it more than my oven, especially when cooking smaller portions.

Hi Linda! I've been thinking it would be smart to use something like this rather than heat the big oven with the price of gas these days. Thank you!

I love my Black and Decker toaster oven too. I think they're often on sale. I got mine at Macy's for $20 about a month ago. I highly recommend it.

My husband and I are so much alike it is hard to believe: neither one of us will eat microwaved food. We reheat everything in the toaster oven because we think that the type of heat the food gives off is different than when it is microwaved. We also love toasted nuts, which we make often.

Hi Mrs J! I don't use the microwave to cook but use it to reheat or to melt butter, chocolate. I wouldn't mind doing without it. Thank you

We have a toaster oven. It does do a lot of things you might otherwise need space and time to do in your oven, which, in my thought, makes it worth the counter space. On the negative side, its a royal pain to keep clean, and doesn't exactly excel at making toast. On the positive side, it replaced a "pop-up toaster" that we had that was a one trick pony in toasting bread, and was one of those plastic sided "cooled sided" things that one night erupted in flames and nearly burned our house down. The oven cannot do that. The insurance types that evaluated our fire took one look at the melted remnants of our toaster (the pop-up one) and said "Oh, yeah, another one of those, they're known for causing fires" So you might understand why I endorse the toaster oven! Its not expensive to buy and if I decide I cannot clean it to my liking, I'd just buy another one.

Hi chairlifter! I can understand why you don't like toasters! I haven't used one in many years. I'm hoping a toaster oven will be a better way to roast a few vegetables or broil a piece of fish.

It's worth it to me not to heat up the big oven (Florida) But they are hard to keep chairlifter said. But I use it more than the microwave. Great for heating up things without heating the Kitchen!

I love, love, love my toaster oven. It's convection with a rotisserie attachment, which I highly recommend. Mine is a Cook's from Penney's and I've had it for quite a while. The only thing I don't do in it is actual baking for sweets. Just not as good as my regular oven for that.
