Help. We're cooking an Indian recipe that calls for corn flour. Is this the same as corn starch?

No corn flour is made from ground corn. Corn starch is a white powder that many times is used as a thickener.

Corn flour is not the same as corn starch. Corn starch is a thickener used to thicken some pie fillings and sometimes soups and stews. If you have a speciality area in your grocery store it might be in the organic section. "Bob's Red Mill" (brand name) products will probably have it.

sometimes corn flour is labeled as masa harina if that helps
