we are going to have a large can of baked beans and I was wondering what we can do to bulk it up and to enhance it? Thank you.

Do you have any meat? Ground beef, ham, even hot dogs? A lot of people eat "beans on toast" with scrambled eggs or over mashed or baked potatoes with some cheese.

My x would like me to add onion, brown sugar, and ketchup. Worchester sauce too. I agree with Keni with the addition of beef or hotdogs.

Try adding some veggies such as carrots and celery, and maybe even tiny bits of meat. Or even bacon!

You could serve it over corn bread or biscuits.

Hi Seamus how's it goin? I always doctor canned beans. a little yellow mustard (very little then taste, it can take over quickly) bacon of course or a spicy sausage, chopped onion either raw or cooked, a little brown sugar (again a little goes a long way) also some garlic or garlic powder if you want a little different taste. that's usually about all I put in my canned beans. sometimes a touch of ketchup. Hope this helps. probably too late for right now but maybe later.

Hi Seamus! Pre fry some bacon or ham, use same to sautee some chopped onion and garlic, (and then the canned beans)adding either some maple syrup or brown sugar, a blast of BBQ sauce, a bit of mustard, some chopped sweet or hot peppers (or both)(Don't need much) and bring to fully cooked. Then add a cup of apple sauce OR drained crushed pineapple, and you've got a pretty solid meal for dinner lunch or breakfast!

I have a lovely ham bone sitting in my fridge right now. Would that help?
