Just found a box of unopened cake flour that says best if used by 7/10/12. Will a cake come out right or should I toss it? I don' t want to waste ingredients if the cake won't be good. Thanks for any input you can give.

It's a 50/50 chance of being good. The flour may have gone rancid, the rising agents may be weak. I would toss.

Yes, toss, something over 1 yr past the use by date is too old.
