Looking to make soft pretzels a bit healthier. Can I sub whole wheat pastry flour for regular AP flour? Is it that easy? 1:1 ratio? Thanks!

Hi; this recipe calls for white and whole wheat flour. So whole wheat will work however, I think that patry flour maybe to heavy of a texture. All I can suggest is to try 1/2 a batch and see if it will work.

For a pretzel that is basically a snack food, I am not sure there is much benefit is subbing wheat flour.

I don't use ap flour when making home made pretzels! Yes! Whole wheat flour makes delicious pretzels! I also have a recipe for rye pretzels. Right now, I'm trying to come up with a gluten free pretzel recipe!
