Party Chef is looking for: (5 recommendations)
Have to vent; Don't you just love it when you search your little heart out for a recipe and you get nothing from the poster? Sorry just a little rant. Forgive me!

I've been trying to think of a nice way to put this. This is much nicer than what I had in mind. Thanks for putting this out there PC.

Of course those implicated will never see this and if they do, won't recognize themselves! Or if they'd recognize themselves, won't give a *}^%{[. I'm venting too...I'm HOT.

I do try to make sure I respond to every post when people post something for me. I even go back and double check later in that day or evening to make sure I didn't miss anyone BUT what I loe is when your looking for recipes because it is new to you....and you get responses like well I searched for greek food and there are tons of recieps. Or you mention no pork recipes because it seems a lot of people love pork and if I don't I get tons of pork recipes (something I've seen otheres do as well so how it can be taken personally I don't know.) or something along those lines you get well strangley, they eat chicken as really? I was asking for recipes so attach one of those babies if you have had it and liked the recipe. That is what I asked for. That annoys me more than anything. Other peopel get recipes I get comments about my question or search for something new. Go figure.

This is a wonderful recipe for beef heart. The meat is cut into strips, browned, and then simmered in a sauce of onion, celery and beef broth. This is terrific served over steamed rice.

Love ya back , more than you know!

I agree with you pc. Mine is when you give advice and they don't heed it and several days later you see the same post again asking the same question. It's like why bother trying to help if they are not going to listen.

I agree, but I also think some of the "requests" are meant to be searches and they are in the wrong place. I think they believe they are doing a recipe search. Perhaps just ignore those kind of requests that just have something like "meatloaf".

lol - i agree IP....and i'm not quite sure those people know how to get at the answers....jmo...

It's nice to get an acknowledgement when posting to someone's post but I don't expect it. Regulars usually have good manners and then sometimes I am surprised when posting to someone I don't recognize and seeing that it did help. And sometimes it helps someone else or satisfies my interest to find something. Sometimes you just don't know the people behind the post ... they could be young or older or somewhere in between. English may not be there first language. They may not be technology savvy or could be using a computer in a library. I do what I do because I simply want to and do not take much personal.

I know what you mean party chef, answer a request and you get ignored. I have learned not to take it personal like Linda(LMT) says.

It is most annoying to not get a response - actually it's quite rude.

I think many strangers think that the people who answer their questions are the paid staff and don't realize that we are just like them.

I agree with you on this. If people are 'too busy' to check back on our replies, it is funny how many of them DO seem to have time to post new questions LOL......I am sure that some think this is the recipe 'search' instead of being their recipe help desk.....I provide guidance on where to look for that feature. It would be nice if the original poster at least said 'thanks I will try that'.....every so often.

Hot dogs and macaroni in a creamy, cheesy tomato sauce is how you make this particular hot dog 'thing.'

Saw your post earlier PC and I couldn't respond cause I didn't know what "poster" you were talking about. I was thinking poster like a picture with an ad attached. DAH. Yes, I think it would be nice to get some kind of response sometimes, even if its "hey lady, you sound whack" . Of course, I would much prefer, " hey lady, you sound absolutely brilliant". I hear that a lot. ;)

Hi PC, your post is one of my personal pet peeves on this site! Its like when you hold the door open for someone and they don't even Bother or have the manners God gave a goat to say Thank you!! ggggrrrr Please and Thank you go a Long way! And Yelling or Demanding that we 'make their' recipes is not cool either!

I always try to acknowledge responses but recently realized why there may be times when circumstances intervene that make responses impossible. A while ago I was looking for a previous request and came across one I had posted just minutes before my eight year old came crying to the front door after having been seriously bitten by the neighbor's dog. We spent the next 6 hours in the emergency room and then made a 15 mile trip to a 24-hour pharmacy, getting home after midnight. Needless to say, my recipe request was forgotten. So while it's nice to have your response acknowledged, some users don't realize that acknowledgement is expected and for others, sometimes life intervenes making responses impossible.
