What to do - I used too hot bbq sauce to make baked beans. Anyway to dull the heat?

Learned this from a friend when we were having lunch with a friend. She took a bite of what she thought was bell pepper but it ended up being a flaming hot jalapeño. She immediately grabbed two packets of sugar and put them in her mouth. Come to find out sugar neutralizes the heat in hot food. I'd try brown sugar in your recipe. Also adding more liquid, so maybe regular BBQ sauce. Good luck!

Adding a bit of honey will help.

Got a can of applesauce? Or a drained can of crushed pineapple? Either one (not both, obviously!) will help you out of the problem.

Thanks for your suggestions. I added brown sugar and worked great!
