We will be hosting a large picnic. If we want to grill hamburgers before the guests arrive, any ideas of how to keep grilled hamburgers warm and fresh tasting?

In the past I have put mine in a low oven with damp paper towels between them and foil over the top. No one complained about them. However- I found with my last picnic that getting the pre-pressed patties and let people grill their own it was a big hit. That way they were fresh as people wanted them. It also saved on wasted food as some people don't like the hamburgers. Just a thought :) Hope that helps.

When I use to run a snack bar, we would go ahead and bun the hamburgers, wrap them in foil and put them in a electric roasting pan. Before you put the burgers in though, put a damp towel on the bottom of the pan. This will keep the burgers warm and the buns soft. Keep the temp around 200 or so.

Put them in a roasting pan on low with some beef stock.

We've put them in a slow cooker on the lowest heat, adding the beef stock as Celeste mentioned above.
