About as good as it gets! This is the version of French Onion Soup that people seek when they go to restaurants. I have been making it for 30 years and it never fails to please. It makes an exquisite presentation, too!

So that you don't cry when chopping up onions, put them in the freezer for 15 minutes and you'll have no tears chopping.

I dont buy cans of green chilies anymore. I keep a jar of jalapeno slices (AKA nacho slices) in the fridge. When a recipe calls for chilies, I add a spoonful of the chopped up jalapenos, to taste. So much cheaper than buying a can every time, and the taste / texture is close enough that we cant tell any difference.

The way to tell if your sunny side up eggs are done is by touching your knuckle to the yolk. When it's warm it's done! Happy egg frying!

Microwave Popcorn

Believe it or not, you can make your own delicious, low-fat microwave popcorn using standard popping corn and a brown paper lunch bag. It works perfectly.

Whenever you are cutting slices off a larger object, (such as a loaf of bread)always keep your eyes on what you are cutting from, not the piece you are slicing. You'll always have straight slices.

Perfect eggs - Start with a hot pan. Crack the egg into pan, turn heat down to medium. Put a lid on the pan and check the egg in about a minute & 1/2 to 2 minutes. It's "over easy" without being turned. My eggs are PERFECT every time!

small cork board on the inside of cabinet-and a few extra push pins- great for the recipe being used(up & off the counter) and a great place to "hide" subs and other lists you need handy:-)

getting the garlic smell off of your hands is easy, sounds crazy but it works, just wet your hands and rub on stainless steel. works amazingly.

how about getting those gloves turned back right side out after having to peel them off, getting the fingers out are a pain. but just turn the main part of the glove right side out, the fingers will still be stuck up inside the glove. grab the top trapping air inside the glove hold tight and with your other hand squeeze and the fingers will pop right out.
