Hello! Does anyone order organic pre-started vegetable plants (not seeds) online? Any suggestions for reputable sources? Thanks!

We order our onion plants from Irish Eyes Garden seeds. We also order there seed potato (I just looked and they don't have many kinds of seed potato left). Some of there stuff is certified organic, others are not.

Oh keep in mind that when you do onions are there long day verities (northern US) and short day verities (southern US) so pick accordingly.

Thanks so much, Sara! I'll check them out. I'm a little behind this year so I'm just going to buy the plants rather than start them myself.

Now that I think about it, our local hardware has burpee plants. I know that they do have some organic. Might want to check at your local hardware store for some plants.

Thanks nanny! Do you order from there?

Sara, our local hardware store has organic herbs but not much for veggies. Same with our local Home Depot.

Sara, I actually went to Bloomington, IN from Terre Haute to purchase organic, heirloom tomato and pepper plants. She has an online business. They are pricy, and she may be sold out by now. You can check her out at The plants were very nice and they are doing well in my garden.

What kinds of plants are you looking to plant? You might be able to start some of them from seed instead of plants.

May be a little late with this but look at the Home Depot our local one has an extensive selection of herbs and vegetables most of them are organic. I work in the garden center. Selections vary by region ours just happens to be one of the largest garden centers in the area. Sometimes local nurseries are also a good source. Good luck. Almost forgot the supermarkets and Wallmart and Kmart also.

Hi; agree with Grumpygrandpa also check out some of the local nerseries. I have one here that only had organic veggies and herbs.
