Marianne? Are you on the Buzz? I just read your review for Frozen Horseradish Sauce and was wondering why does it have to be frozen? What is the texture like on the sandwiches? Thanks, Marianne!

Frozen Horseradish Sauce

This recipe, which dates to the 1920's, was my grandmother's. She served it with roast beef, but it would also be excellent with other beef dishes and sandwiches.

And what is the best way to drain horseradish?

I would drain it through a small tea strainer.

This sounds dee-lish ! I would like to try this also . Would someone kindly post the link to bd.'s recipe . I don't know how to find it . Deli roast beef is over $6 a lb. here , and corned beef was over $ 9 !! Wanted ruebens , but that was not happening for sure ! Thanks , lump :)

I have the recipe for Arby's Horsey-Sauce, it does not require freezing, but it doesn't have heavy whipping cream in it either.

I'm at cheerleading practice watching my 4 yo at work (yuck...but whatever ). My horseradish didn't need draining...not sure what brand I used. I think freezing just helps it keep together. When I took it out, it didn't take long for it to be ready for the sandwiches. It's tasty. I'd add more horseradish for our taste.

Freezing it could be so that is holds a formed shape for better presentation? I don't see why you need to otherwise freeze this before using.
