Sweet Potatoes Supreme with Corn Bread Pudding

This is an elegant torte-like casserole of sliced yellow and orange sweet potatoes with a corn bread base, custard filling, and almond paste layer under a topping of mini marshmallows and cornbread crumbles.

Unique combination of ingredients is one thing, but is it even possible to roll out 4 ounces of almond paste to 9x13 inches?

Hmm. You *can* get it pretty thin, using a pasta's not a torte. It's sweet potatoes. I'd use sliced almonds.

I do believe you are correct. What's more amazing to me is this recipe was approved.

I wonder if this was actually ever made by anyone? A lot of the measurements seem off. And baking mini marshmallows for 20 minutes seems like overkill.

kind of vague- do you peel & slice the cooled sweet potatoes??
What's for dinner, mom?

Recipe says 8 ounces, not 4... so maybe?

I mean maybe 8 ounces is "half" of a 16 oz can. Not half of an 8 ounce can...

Could this be a recipe that was published long ago? Recipes now don't put can sizes in parenthesis.

this is the only recipe in zorros box- i am not a salmon person- but salmon & coconut??
Feb. 1, 2013 10:42 am
I know I just wrote this, and it will show up, I'm sure, but...I agree, Nanny. Zorro has one saved recipe in his box, no reviews, and has been a member since 2006. That bothers me!
Feb. 1, 2013 10:43 am
how do you know the date a recipe in published?? anyone know?
Feb. 1, 2013 10:51 am
Thanks, nanny. I didn't even think to check zorros profile. Now im sure i'ts a joke. Zorro really put one over on AR!

this really sounds gross and it does seem off.

I'm amazed at the lax editing on recipes! I've found two just in the past couple of weeks with repeating directions and serious typos. Just reported one that said "bring to a bowl"....should have been "bring to a boil"...I do report them, and they did fix one of them :)

Feb. 1, 2013 11:06 am

Feb. 1, 2013 11:08 am
for them (ar) to be so finiky on some things - they really stretch others- on the 31st- there were two peeps wanting to go pro- coupon said discount THRU 1-31-- one was told expired(by comp) the other person called & got it- i referred the 1st person to the "contact us"- hope it worked out for them

They are certainly unique recipes...but not my cup of tea. How can you be a member of AR since 2006 and not even review or save a recipe?
Feb. 1, 2013 12:14 pm
I mean, really! Cut the salmon into slices with scissors? Can't wait for another recipe from Zorro. It'll be the joke of the day.

wonder if i should post this to ar??
Feb. 2, 2013 8:17 am
Since the recipe has no reviews it is hard to say exactly when it was posted. AR was formed from various other websites and at one time you could direct post recieps without any review process. Since AR has no test kitchen, the review process is more of an editorial review. I generally avoid recipes without reviews, since you never know how it might turn out and/or if the recipe may be defective in some manner.
