try a flea market. even new ones should be cheaper then 50 bucks.

pineapple upside down cake, fried corn, fried fish. the skillet is really excellent for practically anything.

Some of the recipes should be family favorites, something Mom or Grandmom would make.

Soup pot with pretty jarred mix and recipe , mixing bowls , wooden spoons , box grater , lemon zester , garlic press . Just remembering so many things I didn't have starting out . Roaster w/ lid , dish drainer , lol . Darn near everything !

My first thought was a crock pot. It's great to come home to a warm meal after a long days work - particularly when you are first starting out, possibly away from loved ones.

A stock pot full of kitchen gadgets, can opener, wooden spoons, spoonulas, kitchen towels etc and wrapped in pretty celophane paper. I love this kind of gift, just walk through Target & grab fun stuff!

Spice rack, crock pot, stainless steel bowls, apron, kitchen towels, pot holders, set of knives, cookie sheets, muffin pans(with recipes)hand mixer.
