Ok... I'm new to making fresh pasta and got a new pasta maker for my cuisinart stand mixer... I have made fettuccini twice now and it see,s echo strand sticks together as it comes out of the para maker... My question is do I try and pull them apart or can I drop int water with them all stuck together... Or am I missing something with my dough? Any help is much appriciated!!

We make fresh pasta on occasion and it sounds like you aren't using enough flour. Make sure when getting ready to put it through the roller that it's well coated. Keep dusting with flour throughout the process if necessary. Then just shake off the excess before putting the pasta into the boiling water.

You can dust them with flour so they won't stick to whatever surface you are setting them on. Similarly, once the pasta is cut, you can toss it with a little bit of flour if it seems sticky. Finally, small batches make everything easier to control.

Yeah but what I have problems with is the strands sticking together as it comes out of my machine... Then it takes me forever to try to separate them and end up redoing a lot of them

There is nothing wrong with your dough. I've made pasta 3 times and it always sticks

So does it take you forever the separate the strands or do you put in the water like that and they separate? What recipe do you use?
