Egg noodles, carrots, celery, and chicken are simmered in broth seasoned with basil and oregano. Chicken noodle soup in 30 minutes!

I agree...I cooknow hit all our "go to" things when sick...saltines with flat ginger ale and you know you're on the mend when the grilled cheese sounds good...and it will...:)

Do you think your tummy could stand a hard boiled egg ? Maybe just the white part , if you think the yolk would be too rich . Dry toast , and a cup of weak tea .

Ginger "warms the stomach" and can be had in ginger ale or in a tea...I agree with Icooknow that saltines would be a good idea, but so would banana's, working up to poached aggs on toast, to get you some proteins...when you can, some fibre and lots of fluids to "flush the bug out", so I'm not sure cheese is such a great thought, though I appreciate why people would think to offer that...

Reaching back 40 odd years, we used to joke, in the Army, that what we now call "Red Coke" could sterilise you from mouth to tail pipe! A tiny bit older now, and understanding how the acid in there can dissolve a steak in a matter of hours, let alone a steel nail, I would still suggest some natural fiber...banana, oatmeal, Metamucil, or green apples, and just never be too far from the porcelain "throne", and poop it all out, and be past it.

Gotta go with Icook now. Ginger really does settle your tummy. Ginger Ale and saltines. If you have no energy and no help, (been there) just run some hot tap water and stir in some powdered ginger and a bit of honey or sugar. Sip slowly and be patient. Distract yourself with TV or something. It does help to take your mind off of feeling crummy.
