Hey all! I'm in a pickle. A girlfriend of mine asked me to be in charge of her baby shower cake (I am honored!). She is inviting 60 ppl. No specific flavors. Only suggestion/request she gave was a Dr. Seuss or Green Eggs and Ham theme. I live 3.5 hours away from the shower (being held in Columbus, OH). I want it to be super special, but I'm not professional cake maker. She is very special to me, and I want to do my absolute best (stun her and the guests). I'm thinking maybe cupcakes from a pro in town, and a "ham" cake as a center piece (I'm decent at making cheesecakes)? Try to cut cost, add personal effort, and make this a success all at once. Also, keep in mind I have limited time to even begin practicing fondant. ANY help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!

You could make a diaper cake and supply cupcakes with Dr Suess toppers to go with the theme.

I would do a cupcake tower, and make the cupcakes with green frosting. to dress it up a bit you can get colored fancy looking green sprinkles to go on top of the frosting for a little bling (try Michaels cake decor area). The top or centerpiece of the tower could be a small/personal sized cake (i would do a 6inch diameter) and you could use a mini dr.seuss hat (the iconic red and white striped one) as a topper for it, or use fondant to make the cake actually look like the hat... i dunno!

This past spring a mom brought cupcakes to the soccer players. Each cup cake was designed to form a rabbit! It was almost Easter and it was her daughter's birthday. I thought it was a cake and as I looked more closely they were cupcakes and it had the face of a rabbit; long ears, big eyes and big 2 front teeth and it was pink! I do not know how the person (whoever) baked it got all the right angles. It sure was beautiful!

easiest thing is that You can go to your local cake bakery that does edible prints, ask the print specs for the size of cake you want, scan a picture you like from the green eggs and ham book, and have them do an "edible print" of that right on your cake. They sell the edible toppers on ebay too check this link,Vd1fgBPQJpihTKQ~~60_35.JPG&w=300&h=300&ei=KCLAUMugKYmy2QWtt4DwDA&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=353&sig=101799072190130081177&page=1&tbnh=153&tbnw=170&start=0&ndsp=37&ved=1t:429,r:17,s:0,i:137&tx=84&ty=70
