How many times do you guys think we will have to contact allrecipes before they remove the pop up menu planner(super annoying) at the bottom of the page?? Are they listening?

There have been a ton of complaints since it first went up. And to answer your second question, no, they obviously don't give a sheet what we think!

I try to ignore it. I guess they think it is doing some good or they would remove it. If anyone from AR ever reads these posts, they must know we ARE NOT AMUSED by it!! I certainly will NOT be encouraged to try it because of the annoying popup.

I added an ad block and increased my pop up blocker to full strength. It works, I don't see the menu pop up and I don't have a Publix ad in the middle of my photos now. But if I want to pin a recipe to Pinterest, I have to allow pop ups or it won't work. It also affect other sites now for me also, and I have to allow the pop ups for things to work.

I mean that the pop up and ad blocker affects other sites for me.

I say we all email them everyday ... at some point they will get sick of it as we are sick of seeing it.

Constantly reporting that menu popup to AR is a waste of time. If their PR/ad people think this will cause more people to become paying members they most likely won't change their mind. However, when fewer people are using this site, maybe they will realize what a disaster these latest 'improvements' haven been. I also downloaded an adblocker program is it works great and that ridiculous menu thing is gone. No one is more like to buy something they find annoying. I am looking for other cooking sites and probably will permanently switch when I find something I like.

I FINALLY got rid of it with an adblocker Pamela D recommended. Up until then, repeated emails had no effect whatsoever. If I understand AR Elizabeth right, they *want* it to pop up on every page when you go from one to another. Trying to ignore it didn't work because it took up so much of the bottom of the page that I had to continuosly scroll up just to read the page! Savuer's right....they don't care what we think.

Goodfood, I totally agree. When there is that much high pressure, I purposely do NOT buy it!

Thank you for the suggestion on the ad blocker. I can't stand it also.

I'm with Goodfood. Hardly come on here anymore. Between the menu pop-up and all the 'improvements', I'm looking for another site to frequent. Love the folks here so I'll keep tuning in to see what others find. Maybe we'll see you there!

There is another recipe site I use, but have never used the chat/forum/blog feature. You are welcome to post test messages there and we can see if this might work for us. I setup a profile so you can try it out (its free !). The site is call 'cooking discussion kitchens' I assume there must be some features there which allow you to interact. I an not a fan of FB/twitter or pinterest...not my thing ... http://recipebox.cdkitchen.com/198658/myrecipes.html
