Hi everybody! I have volunteered to take snacks in to the football game Friday night...for the marching band. I'm in desperate need of nuts and nothing 'messy' as they will be in their uniforms and eating in the stands.

Tomato and Mozzarella Bites

A great way to serve tomato mozzarella salad. Great presentation; always a hit! You can find the bite-sized mozzarella ('Bocconcini') at most supermarkets. If they are on the larger side, cut them in half.

Really great appetizer for the summer or anytime. Every time I have served these everyone wants the recipe...and they're so easy! Just be sure to refrigerate the cream cheese mixture overnight!

This recipe is excellent served for breakfast with fruit, or at lunch or dinner with a salad. This recipe makes two 9 inch pies. The reason for this is because if you only make one you will hate yourself the next day when there are no leftovers. Bacon, ham, and spinach and mushrooms are layered with 3 cheeses in this rich delicious egg dish.

You can do them in a one bite size? App size? Anything on a stick would be great

These sound good, but a bit pricey for all those kids! Saving for us!

Pizza Pinwheels

You'll want to pop as many of these little pizza wheel treats into your mouth as will fit. Crescent roll dough provides a mouth-watering crust. Try experimenting with different types of cheese to vary the flavor.

Pizza Swirls

My children helped me dream up this snappy bread that tastes like pizza. The from-scratch flavor makes it a family favorite, but it's great for parties, too.

Put in them what you like, my son likes them with pizza sauce, a little pepperoni and cheese.

Is it just you doing the snacks for all the kids?
Oct. 9, 2012 11:04 am
No, probably a half dozen of us, or less! I'd like to bring enough for about half of the kids. I also have to bring dessert for the usual Friday game supper we feed the band before going out on the field. It's the clarinet (my) section's turn this week, wouldn't you know if falls on the same day! I'm making cupcakes for them, just the regular band of 75! I'll be bringing 4 dozen cupcakes.

Maybe your oven will be too occupied with all the cupcakes BUT>>>> I've done this with pretzels and they were very good. If you used large disposable turkey roasters you could do several pans at once, rotating to different oven racks. Bag them up in snack size ziplocks. Tasty and inexpensive.

Ohhh, this would be yummy! Did you do it with mini pretzels, or sticks? Guess it doesn't matter, but I like this idea! I'm making the cupcakes Thursday so the oven will be wide open on Friday!

Pasted my review for you.... As I was stuffing my mouth with these fantastic nuts I kept thinking this coating would be great on pretzels. Not as addictive as the nuts but good all the same. I used a 15 oz bag of pretzel twists, 1 cup sugar, 3 egg whites, 3 teaspoons water, 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon, no salt. I cooked in a disposable alum roaster and that worked great. I stirred more frequently and cooked it about 1h20m then turned off the oven and left it there for another 20m and then cooled completely.

Thank you Pamela...this will be great!
