This is so pretty and easy and made the day/night before. I like to put it in a pretty glass or crystal bowl and it also becomes a hostess gift :)

Eat Michigan Salad

"I live in Buckeye country, that's the land of Ohio State University football to the rest of you. We love to tailgate and watch the Bowl games, and are always trying to come up with clever things to do to our biggest rivals up north, the Michigan Wolverines. The cherries and maple in this wonderful salad inspired the name. Enjoy!"

Easy fall salad, make the dressing the night before, too.

The three milks in this egg rich Mexican cake are used to macerate and frost this high, single-layer cake decorated with Maraschino cherries.

This gets better the longer it sits.

Homemade ladyfingers are soaked in a rum-coffee syrup and layered with sweetened mascarpone in this elegant tiramisu made in a springform pan.

This also tastes better the longer it sits. I use store bought lady fingers. If you can find the chocolate ones they make the triamisu sooo good.

Not too often do you hear 'fantastic' and 'Brussels sprouts' in the same sentence but this recipe is deserving of that. When I mentioned I was bringing Brussels sprouts to a holiday get together, my mom told me not to bother. After eating this dish, my family now requests I bring it to every get together!

OK, I know, I know I keep recommending these recently. Probably should make some for us, right? They are really, really good though. Use walnuts instead of pine nuts if you want to.

How about something like this? YOu can assemble it a day before and then bake on the day you carry it over.

Cook enough sweet potatoes to make the number of servings you need. Mash them with butter and brown sugar, to taste, and put them in a covered baking dish. About an hour before you eat, take them out, uncover and reheat at 350 degrees until hot. If you want, sprinkle chopped pecans on top. Easy peasy and you can make it ahead. Happy Thanksgiving! I haven't even thought about Thanksgiving, so am glad ours isn't for a while yet :)

Cinnamon-spiced apples are baked with a sweet oat crumble in this simple dessert. It's great served with ice cream!

Caramel Apple Eclair Cake

This delicious no-bake dessert combines apples, vanilla pudding and cinnamon graham crackers topped off with a caramel icing. It's best to refrigerate it for 24 hours to let the dessert have time to form a cake-like consistency.

This is a big hit when I bring it to work potlucks - they were fighting over who got to take home the leftovers! Best done at least a day in advance. I did not realize that I hadn't reviewed it /= I used a can of caramel apple pie filling that I hoarded last holiday season. You can use either cinnamon grahams, or regular - I cut them to fit my container. I used a larger [longer] Rubbermaid container and did a single layer. Next time I used a smaller [square] container, and I did a double layer - but couldn't put the lid on the Rubbermaid . . .

Same idea, but needs to be made two days in advance [which makes it a Thanksgiving fave for me!]
