Why not keeo it simple? Just good old oatmeal, boiled into porridge, with maple syrup, or blackstrap mollasses and watered down with half and half or fattier cream? Yes, yes, sliced peaches, apricots, whole blueberries (run the full gamut!)

I don't like the taste of blackstrap molasses, but if I cook it in the oatmeal will it change the flavor of the molasses?

Unless you are used to blackstrap molasses, you might find it too bitter to put into the oatmeal as is. Many people would have to add sugar and just a tiny bit of molasses if they used blackstrap!

I liked both of these. On the Dominican oatmeal you can reduce the sugar to, I have.

I didn't add the quinoa to this one. I didn't have it. It was fine without it.

Dominican Style Oatmeal

After living in the Dominican Republic for many years, I came to appreciate their tasty and easy way of making oatmeal. The texture is more creamy and liquidy, and the flavor is comforting in the morning.

I nuke 1/2 cup old fashioned oats with 1 cup water for two minutes. As soon as it comes out, I slice a banana on top, sprinkle with wheat germ and top with cinnamon. Let it sit for a couple minutes to cool down and to let the banana sweeten it....yum!

Full of dried fruit and nuts, these power bars are delicious and much more filling than most granola bars.

Cinnamon Stove Top Granola

This is a super fast and simple to make granola that comes out tender, crisp and delicious every time! It's very versatile, simply add your favorite dried fruits, nuts, toasted coconut, etc. If you prefer your granola harder, just cook it a little longer at the end. Using butter will give it a deeper/heavier flavor, oil gives it a lighter flavor, more like the commercial granolas you find at your grocery store.

Read my review to see the comment. I added cocoa to this for a chocolate flavored granola. I bet carob powder would also make it good, but haven't tried it yet!

Eat your muesli! If you've never tried this granola-like breakfast treat, this is a great recipe. Lots of bran and oats and raisins and nuts, with just enough brown sugar to add a bit of sweetness. Serve as is with soy milk, or plop the bowl in the microwave and eat it warm.

This is wonderful! My favorite now ... its a cereal but you can eat it with yogurt too and is made with mostly oatmeal.
