Fresh avocado-sesame rolls (super easy)

Heidi's kitchen 2

"We Love these super easy, fresh Japanese rolls. I dropped the sugar/vinegar years ago and find this streamlined version has a freshness that appeals to everyone. Dipped in soy sauce with a hint of wasabi and I'm transported!"

  1. When rice is finished, take off heat and bring to warm
  2. On cutting board, place one sheet of nori on the bamboo mat.
  3. Place approx. 2-3 tablespoons of plain, warm, white rice on nori
  4. Spread with paddle to edges (see pic)
  5. Add avocado slices across in a thin line, (see pic)
  6. Sprinkle sesame seeds across entire surface
  7. Take a deep breath, lift end bamboo mat and fold over while rolling and tucking the "roll".
  8. Having nori on the bottom makes this much easier, the idea is to have nori on the outside of the roll, see picture
  9. Take bamboo mat and place over the rolled "roll". Squeeze gently and tighten down until roll is quite firm. (Tuck in on both sides tighter and tighter
  10. Cut from center out. I usually eat the end pieces as I can never get them to look nice.
  11. Cut small rounds as shown in picture and serve with soy sauce, wasabi and ginger.
